"It's a String Thing" #120

It is Tuesday, your good news day!

We are also just days away from celebrating Thanksgiving here in the United States - a time to pause and thank God for His many blessings.

At our home the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is staple television viewing in the morning and football follows throughout the day.

We celebrate with the usual turkey, stuffing, and all of the "fixin's".  My mother prepares a ham and sweet potatoes, both favorites with the kids.
It is not unusual for us to host twenty guests or more, although this year our count is about a dozen.

One of our long standing traditions - once we are sufficiently stuffed - is to take turns around the dinner table to say what we are grateful for.  By the time the last person finishes, our hearts are as full as our tummies.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let's do something similar for this week's challenge.

Think of something or someone you are grateful for and add a word or two about them, or it, to your tile.  It could be very specific, or very general, something you would like to share with all of us.

We begin with TanglePatterns String 017 by Sabrina Croft ~

We will use just two tangles this week.  It will leave plenty of time for enjoying company and preparing meals AND give you some incentive to take time for yourself.
They are:

Gourdeous by Maria Thomas, Zentangle® co-founder.  This is Maria's newest pattern and it fits in wonderfully with a fall theme.

Lichen by Jennifer Hohensteiner This is a nice 'filler' pattern.

Step outs for the patterns can be found by clicking their names above and/or TanglePatterns.

Use as many or as few as you'd like.

Simply pencil the string line onto your tile and tangle away!  Keep in mind that string lines are suggestions and let the patterns lead the way.

Here are the (Not so) Official Guidelines:
* Challenges are posted on Tuesdays.
